Happy valentines day my lovely ones! You guys are the best valentines gift a Paris blogger like me could ask for. Thank you for all the support and nice messages about the new website www.worldofparis.com ! ♡
Wow, it feels like yesterday that I told you my Christmas ball story, but it’s really almost a year ago! Time flies so fast this year. Well, according to my friends, I say that every year but, this year is truly different ;) Even though I had to work a lot and started a new study, I tried to visit Paris as much as possible. When I had left Paris in December, I came back in April, followed by a trip in August and now I go again in December to enjoy a bit of the Christmas atmosphere. Unfortunately, I can’t stay for long, but I’m busy with planning a new trip for the beginning of 2015 (that sounds so far away!)
Right, I was talking about the Christmas atmosphere because today (14/11/14) starts the Christmas market at the Champs-Elysées! Which is good news because that means the rest will follow! At the Christmas market at the Champs-Elysées are a lot of fun things to do and to buy and the Ferris wheel (Grande Roue) at the end is really a picture perfect. If you want to save some money, don’t take it with you because it’s hard to keep it in your wallet.
As I just said, the rest of the Christmas markets will follow, here are some important places and dates:
(For more information you can go to the official site of the Christmas markets in Paris for opening hours etc.)
15/11 – Christmas market St-Germain-des-Prés.
20/11 – Christmas market La Défense.
06/12 – Christmas market Montmartre.
12/12 – Christmas market Notre-Dame
13/12 – Christmas market Trocadéro/Eiffel Tower.
Besides this list of Christmas markets there are a lot of other places to find, hidden between the other Christmas craziness of Paris!
If you go to Paris these days, I wish you a lot of fun and hope you will share your Christmas experiences with me when you’re back :)
Sweet dreams everyone or a really good morning ♥
Here are some pictures of last year, to get into the Christmas mood.
We all have dreams. Dreams that are realistic and dreams that are unrealistic. But I wonder, at what point becomes your dream an ‘unrealistic dream’? Is it when your parents say ‘that’s nothing for you’ or when your best friend laughs in your face ‘hahaha LOL, you’re never gonna reach that’. I can think of a thousand negative reactions but in the end it’s your own decision. Unfortunately, we listen too much to the influence from the outside..
That’s why I choose this sign to be my ‘Weekly Photo Challenge’ – Beginnings. You can find these street signs everywhere in Paris and in the rest of Europe. You may call it modern artwork (with humor) made by the Italy-based French artist, Clet Abraham.
If other people tell you to STOP, break through! Listen to your own mind, your own feelings and go the direction you want. I’m not telling you to ignore a traffic sign ;) but to be the person you want to be. I have always been myself and I’m really proud of that. But, I also know that I have looked too many times at other persons and made some mistakes because of that. You can’t be a person everyone likes so STOP DOING THAT! It’s a new year, it’s time for a new beginning. I hate the slogan YOLO (you only live once) but it’s true. You only get one chance to be happy. It’s time to make important decisions, get your life back on track and look how can you accomplish your goals.
When I told my French teacher I wanted to make a website about Paris she said: what will you accomplish with that? There are too many of it. You expect support from the teacher you look up too. Not gonna happen. Well, hey look at me, I made it and I’m not even finished! I’m different than the other Paris blogs, I have my own stories and experiences to tell and people love to read it. 2014 is my year to start over. I take care of my own success and I hope to send my french teacher this year my own Paris travel guide!
What about you, do you live the life you want or is 2014 also for you a new beginning?
