A few posts earlier I told you 10 facts about the metro in Paris, now it’s time for a new fun fact!
Did you know that the largest metro station in the world is …*drums*… metro station Châtelet in Paris?! That’s because Châtelet is connected to three RER lines A, B and D. Châtelet is also connected with the metro station Les Halles. Because of this combination Châtelet is the largest metro station in the world. It’s a bit cheating but we don’t care :)
More than 750 thousand passengers are traveling each day through this station, 493 thousand of them are using the RER. The RER is a fast connection to the suburbs of Paris, for example to Disneyland!
Châtelet is also a popular place because of the underground mall ‘Les Halles’. Maybe you like my post I wrote earlier about Les Halles!
