Forget about the Eiffel Tower. Well sure, the Eiffel Tower is nice but also very cliche. I mean, thousands of people were before you!! Come on, be a little creative. Need some inspiration? I figured out three amazing places for your proposal!
1. Le Square du Vert-Galant.
A romantic symbol in Paris is Pont Neuf. It’s a well-known bridge that’s central to many romantic movies. It’s a tradition (especially among the tourists) to give your lover a big kiss on the bridge. But if you want to propose here to your sweetheart, she will get suspicions very quickly. So, walk a little further. At the middle of the bridge you’ll find a statue. Behind the statue is a ladder to a little park.
If you walk till the end of the park, you have an amazing view of the Seine. It’s very quiet here. Great, no clapping and smiling tourists. So, don’t be shy, you can hug each other as long as you want!
2. Pont Alexandre III
If you can’t let go of the Eiffel Tower, go to Pont Alexandre III. This romantic bridge is perfect for a proposing. The bridge has golden marks and gorgeous street lamps. If you are on the right side, you have a view of the Seine and the Eiffel Tower. And as the icing on the cake, you must be there before 22:00 hour! Then the lights of the Eiffel Tower will flash for a while. At least you’ll see the Eiffel Tower when you experience this beautiful moment together!
3. Ile Saint-Louis
Ile Saint-Louis is the forgotten island next to the big island, Ile de la Cité. Just for your orientation, that’s where the Notre Dames stands. If you want to fit in with the Parisians, you propose here to your lovely lady. This is namely a popular place for the Parisians to propose.
The whole island is appropriate! There are many street artist, picnicking people and if you don’t walk through the main street it’s also pleasantly quiet. You could call it a relaxed atmosphere. Get a ice cream at Bertillon, find a nice spot and do your thing. With ice from Bertillon, it hardly can’t go wrong!
Other romantic ideas are: a Seine Cruise with diner, Pont des Arts, Jardin du Luxembourg, on top of Montmartre or at the beach in July/August at Paris Plage.
Good luck gentlemen, I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
